Family Time in Portland

Portland, Oregon is a wonderland for families. Everyone who has ever lived there swears by its beauty and culture. They see returning to visit as “going home,” even if they’ve moved far away. Memories are always good and it is easy to see why. Portland offers a plethora of great outdoor activities that families can do together in their spare time this fall. Portland has a beautiful outdoor scene.

Fruit picking

Visit a local orchard when the apples are in season. Some orchards will let you come pick your very own produce. Take the kids, a few baskets and start getting in those trees. You’ll have a great time while getting your daily supplement of fruits.

If you’ve had your fair share of apples and want something else to pick, there are a few places to pick pumpkins and pears this season.

Local Scenery

The leaves are turning this time of year. Take a drive through Hood River Valley to witness the beautiful event. There are miles of trees turning colors. Roll down the windows, grab a camera and start taking pictures of the breathtaking scenes you’ll come across in nature’s playground.

There’s always a good trail to walk at Fantasy Trail. This Halloween, they will host a Halloween Trail that leads to a 40-foot high castle, complete with suspension bridge and maze to get lost in.

Get in the Halloween Spirit on Sauvie Island. They will be hosting pumpkin activities all day. Get out of the house and your pumpkin carving done all at once.
